Rehabilitation Therapy

Rehab Plus of Barnesville provides inpatient and outpatient therapy services to the residents of Valley Care and Rehab. Rehab Plus has been helping people conquer disabilities caused by accidents, illnesses or chronic conditions. The physical therapists practice in both acute care and rehabilitation settings to meet the physical therapy needs of our residents.

The therapists from Rehab Plus use a team approach to treat patients of all ages and work closely with the resident's physician, family, and other providers to develop the most effective rehabilitation program possible. Family members are especially encouraged to play an active role in the rehabilitation process of their loved one.

Physical Therapy:

Physical therapy is designed to:

  • Restore motion and decrease pain

  • Increase muscle strength, flexibility and endurance

  • Decrease swelling/inflammation of joints

  • Improve balance, coordination and walking ability

  • Prevent injury

Occupational Therapy:

Through restorative treatment methods and adaptive techniques, Rehab Plus provides the skills for the job of living to clients of all ages. This includes: skills to dress, shop, work, drive, play or cope with a disability. All of those skills are necessary and reflect the variety of our lives. Restorative treatments, adaptive methods, the environment and assistive technology are used to reach the resident's goals.

Speech Therapy:

Speech therapy provides evaluation and treatment in the following areas:

  • Stroke - right hemisphere cognitive deficits
