Our Activities Department offers many engaging activities to keep the mind and body active. This therapeutic recreation is also good for the soul and helps reverse symptoms of depression often seen in seniors.
Some of the activities offered include daily exercise to get the blood pumping, baking projects, devotions, reading the local Record-Review newspaper, crafts, games, cards, and, of course, the crowd favorite, Bingo.
With our facility bus we are able to make several outings during the year. Shopping trips to the Dollar General, visits to Blue Eagle Lake, and drives around town to see changing colors of the seasons and Christmas lights are just some of our local outings. Our residents also have the opportunity to go to Detroit Lakes in the summer to take in some fishing or just enjoy a pontoon ride around the lake.
We are grateful to have many volunteer individuals and organizations share their time and talent with us. Local groups such as the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, St. John’s Church, and Assumption Church are just a few examples of the amazing volunteers in the Barnesville community. If you or your organization would like to share your time, please fill out our Volunteer Interest Form below, or call 218-354-2254 and talk with Mark Rustad, Administrator.
